The latest update of the Global Poker Index Ranking saw the three leading positions on the board unchanged. Fedor Holz kept his leadership position for seventh week in a row, while Jason Mercier remained as a runner-up for four consecutive weeks. The No.3 player in the GPI Ranking – Nick Petrangelo – managed to keep his position for three straight weeks and does not hide his ambitions to go all the way to top of the list.
The 29-year-old Massachusetts-born professional poker player has climbed in the Global Poker Index Ranking as high as the runner-up position and is currently second by National rank, with a to-date score in the GPI totalling 4,191.55 points. The all-time earnings of the poker pro are estimated to $5,234,820 to date, and his live best cash amounts to $1,015,335.
2016 was quite a successful year for Nick Petrangelo, who took part in several poker events in the first seven months of the year.
The latest poker tournament Petrangelo participated in was the 47th WSOP in Las Vegas. The player took part in a total of three events. The first one was the $10,000 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em 6-Handed Championship from June 23rd to June 25th, in which Petrangelo occupied the fifth position and took home a prize of $127,622. Then, he participated in the $111,111 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em High Roller for One Drop from July 8th to July 10th and ranked seventh, generating winnings of $628,679.
And last but not least, the poker pro participated in the $10,000 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em Main Event Championship of 2016 WSOP from July 9th to July 17th. He got 888th of a total of 6,737 entries and won $15,000.
A few weeks before the 47th edition of the WSOP tournament, Petrangelo took part in the Grand Final of the EPT – 12 – FPS – 6. He entered the No Limit Hold’em – 8-Handed event that took place at Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort in the period May 5th-6th, 2016.
In April this year, the American poker professional participated in two events of the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown – the $2,200 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em Eight Max on April 14th in which he finished at the first position and the $25,500 Buy-in No Limit Hold’em High Roller on April 19th-20th, which saw him occupy the fourth position. The two events brought him total earnings of $300,008.
Petrangelo also participated in several other tournaments in 2016, including this year’s edition of PCA, which brought him $132,920. The 29-year-old player also take part in the EPT – 12 – UKIPT – 5 in Dublin in February, as well as in the WPT Bay 101 Shooting Star in March.
